Memorial Day Weekend

We hope you all had a great Memorial Day weekend. It was nice to have a long weekend wasn't it? Mommy, Daddy & I had a good weekend. Friday night we met Grandpa & Grandma Kok for dinner and then went up north to stay at Grandma & Papa Meidam's house for the weekend. We did spring clean up work and had fun with my cousins.
I really surpised my mommy & daddy on they way home though. It is about a 3.5 hr drive - I usually sleep for most of it. Well - this time I didn't! I cried. You know - I am generally a pretty happy baby - I cried more on the way home yesterday than I have total in the other 6 months of my life. Ooops - just trying to keep them on their toes :) Not sure what it was - the cold that I have, if my teeth are finally going to appear soon - or maybe I just don't like riding 3.5 hrs in that darn seat.

Today I had a fever again and a cold - so I stayed home from school. Mommy took me to the dr to make sure my ear infection didn't come back. It looks ok now - but who knows what will happen now that I've got another cold. Mommy has one too :( We just need to get better!

This is just not a happy little me!

Well - Memorial Day - did you remember all the people who served our country in past wars? I know my Grandpa & Great Grandpa served - THANK YOU!!!! What about the war going on right now? My friend Grant's daddy is in Iraq right now. We pray for his safe return at the end of this year - so they can be a happy family again. Can you pray for that too?
We know Memorial Day is to remember our Service men & women - but we remember my big sister as well. Last year on Memorial Weekend, Mommy & Daddy planted a tree for Briana up north. Then this winter we put white lights on it. Well, this past weekend we put pink lights on it. That is just for Briana - she & Mommy love Pink!

Daddy went to bed too late - I am on my morning nap already :)

Mommy, Daddy & I went to the museum today to see the Body Worlds exhibit. No strollers - so I rode in front of daddy in the snuggli for the first time ever :) After that - I got to sit on this thing... - it was a beetle - you just can't tell that from the picture :)

6 Month Dr Visit

Grant had his 6 month doctors visit today. He is 15lbs 10oz and 25.25 inches long (although they said 25.5 - they didn't mark it right :)) That puts him in the 15th percentile for weight and 25th for height. He's on track for everything else developmentaly. She said his teeth are coming - but it will be a while before they break through. We just have to keep working more foods into his diet. Continuing on with cereal & veggies and introducing meats. (Yes Grandma - he will get a fruit sooner or later :)) So far he's had green beans, carrots, peas and now sweet potatoes - MMM - he loves them all. He did not sleep well last night - we don't know what the deal was - but his cries were like he was in pain - not like he just thought we should wake up and play. Maybe a belly ache. Next he will master sitting - then on to crawling...yikes - he's getting so big!

Those shots really do hurt! But I only cried for a few seconds - I'm a tough kid!

6 months old!

Yes - I know - I love my hat too :) All I need is a set of golf clubs & some shoes :)

Hello everyone! As of Sunday, I am now 6 months old! Can you believe it - in just 6 more months I will have a birthday party! I can't wait :) I guess we shouldn't rush things though - that's what mommy says. For right now - I still enjoy my exersaucer, trying new veggies and putting everything in my mouth. I have now tried green beans, carrots & peas - I like them all. I think I like them better than that cereal - but I guess I need that to make me strong.


This weekend I had a fever pretty much all weekend. It went away this morning and I didn't have it at school, but it was back again tonight. Mommy is calling the dr in the morning. She thinks it is because I may have a tooth or two coming in - or because I have this cold - but she doesn't know for sure. We thought it was all gone - but it snuck back up on us :( Miss Penny told mommy I didn't have a very happy day at school today - sad :( I was smiley tonight though - we went for a walk and I got to go on the swing at the park. When we got home, I took a bath and then went to bed. I need some sleep.

I'm doing better at sitting - the boppy helps me. Mommy was going to put my playmat away - but daddy and I started playing with it the other day - I like it more now than I did before! Those animals dangling above my head don't stand a chance now ;)

My Veggies

I've been trying new veggies this week. I started with Green Beans - I like them! Tonight I tried carrots for the first time. They are really good too. I'm starting to sit up a little better (with support of course), I like to grab my toes on the changing table and I'm making more noises with my mouth...fake coughing and something my mommy calls "spitting"...I guess I'm not supposed to do that with food in my mouth :) hehe.
