Grant has been a busy little boy. He is babbling more and more - repeating many things - pancake, milk, more, help, shoes. When he's done eating he says "all done" and also does a lot of nodding and shaking his head when you ask him questions. At first I didn't think he really meant what he indicated with his head - but he usually does.
Here are a few pics from the last week or two...
Grant likes to ride this horsie - he received it from our friens - Jim & Diane. THANKS Jim & Diane!

34 Weeks

Yesterday I hit 34 weeks along with Baby Meidam #3. It's hard to believe really how fast this pregnancy is going! We had an ultra sound today - the last one before we meet this little one! Our dr was very pleased with how everything is progressing. He said the blood flow was good, breathing looked really good, fluid levels are where they should be, etc. The baby is approx 5lbs 1oz which puts him/her in the 43rd percentile. This is bigger than Grant was at 34 weeks. I followed my ultra sound with an appointment with my OB. The heartbeat was again about 140, I measure about 32 weeks (which is two weeks behind, but I guess is fine as long as I am within 3 weeks of how far along I am) and head is down. I will continue my non-stress tests twice a week and see my OB again at 36 weeks. Wow - time is just flying!I have one more week of travel for work. Next week will be the last week I can really head to my customers in IL as well as those in WI that are over an hour away - so it will be busy. I do plan to work right up until I deliver again. Once I am not able to travel as far - I have plenty of office work to do. Most of you know - this involves me working out of my home office - so it works out well as I near the end of my pregnancies. I will have a lot to do - maternity plan, finishing year end odds & ends from 2008 and getting 2009 off to a good and organized start before I head off to maternity leave.

As far as the rest of "being ready" goes - we're not really there yet. We would be able to take a baby home tomorrow if need be - but right now we still have a lot of shifting around to do in our house before we have a good place to put this baby :) Brian's office has to move to the basement and we have to turn Brian's current office into Grant's new bedroom. Hopefully that will happen over the next couple weeks.

We thank you all for your thoughts and prayers throughout this pregnancy and ask you continue for these last 4-6 weeks. We anxiously await this little one's arrival and can't wait to find out if we will have another little boy or another little girl - such a mystery! What do you think?
Baby Meidam #3 at 34 Weeks. Looks like the Schmidt nose to me :)
Right when the doctor was about to print the picture - the baby stuck out it's tongue - it was so funny! Like it was saying "ha ha - you don't know what I am"

Rough days....

Grant has had a few rough days. We thought it was that fourth tooth working its way in - but we were wrong - or at least that wasn't all that was going on. Starting Saturday he had a cough, then Sat night a fever, Sunday he added the runny nose and Monday much of the same. Many told us all of these were teething symptoms (and with his first two we had a lot of runny nose & coughing. BUT...last night his fever got up to 102.7 - which is tooo high for teething and too high to think it is something that will just run its course. So - daddy took him to the dr today and we found a double ear infection. :( Poor Grant. The dr also said - probably going to see one of those bottom teeth popping through next week some time. Man - he just goes from one thing to the next - poor little guy.
Hopefully with the meds this will all go away soon!

Babbling....

Our little man is babbling up a storm. For the last week/week & a half he has really been babbling a lot. Many times he repeats certain syllables over and over - but we have no idea what he's saying :) It is very fun to listen to though. This video is a little taste for you. He's saying and repeating more things - All Done (when done eating), Help (he will repeat and said for the first time really on his own tonight) - and he'll shake his head when he doesn't want to do something or eat something.

He also became interested in building towers and does pretty well with it.

He's teething again - we think. This weekend he's had a cough all weekend and last night a fever set in. Today he slept a ton and his poor little nose ran like crazy. His fingers are in his mouth quite a bit - it's just hard to know whether it's a cold or teeth - hopefully teeth.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year! We hope you all had a great end to your 2008 and brought in the New Year with a bang! We spent the week last week in Tomahawk with Brian's family. Brian was able to head out snowmobiling a number of times, I did a little shopping and we enjoyed some much needed time for relaxation.

Story time with two of my cousins and Grandma

Swimming with Daddy at the Super 8 - they have an open swim time.

Have I mentioned - Grant LOVES shoes - here he is trying on my boots. He just giggled as he tried to stand up and move.

Before we headed up north - we had a 31 week ultrasound for Baby #3. He/She continues to do well. It's heartbeat was in the mid 140s again, weighed in at about 3lbs 7 oz (Grant was 3lbs 8oz at 32 weeks) and is in about the 35th percentile. Breathing movements again were good and movement was good as well. I had been a bit concerned b/c the few days prior to the ultra sound I had felt the baby move a lot - but more rolls or body shifts - not a lot of kicking/punches...well - of course I stated my concern and about 1 minute later the little one gave me a good kick :) The doctor looked at my like I was crazy :) That's ok though!

The doctor suggested I start having non-stress tests twice a week now instead of once and he will see me again at 34 weeks for another ultra sound. He will determine then if he will see me one more time before delivery. Today I saw my regular OB - the baby's heartbeat was again - about 145 and I measure 30-32 weeks (I am 32 weeks plus a few days). I now start seeing my OB every 2 weeks. So - OB appts every 2 weeks, ultra sound every 3 and non-stress tests twice a week.

This pregnancy has gone by quite quickly. I don't know where the time has gone! I know I have been much busier with this pregnancy - working full time and now being a full time mom as well - but I can't believe this baby will be here in less than 2 months! I feel bad - with Briana and Grant I kept a pretty good pregnancy journal and for this one - I'm trying to remember as much as I can with hopes that I will get it all on paper after the baby is born (that will really happen right?) I guess that is another great purpose to write these blog entries :) This past Saturday, my parent's came to watch Grant so Brian and I could get a start on cleaning our basement. Thanks to Mom for watching Grant and Dad for his help in the basement. We've made a huge dent, but still have a ways to go before the baby arrives...finish cleaning out the basement, move Brian's office down there, fix up the "office" into Grant's "big boy" room, etc.

Anyway - Grant continues to amaze us. He turned 14 mos old yesterday. He had almost 2 full weeks away from daycare - with mommy and daddy. It was hard for him to go back today - he cried when Brian dropped him off and I don't think he has ever done that before. He must be hitting a growth spurt - he is eating a ton! and has been sleeping quite a bit too. He gets home from school and is starving (even though he had an afternoon snack). Tonight he ate - 4-6 tablespoons of corn, 2 table spoons of manwich, some ham, 3-4 tablespoons of yogurt, 1/2 piece of bread and about a 1/2 piece of string cheese.

Grant at 14 mos old. He loves to play with phones and knows exactly what we are doing when we are on them. He says "hello" and "ba-bye" from different rooms of the house if he can hear us on it. Here daddy had Grandma Meidam on speaker phone and Grant was talking to her into his play phone :)

Christmas week - he cut is 3rd tooth and I think the 4th may be coming soon. The 23rd we were trying to determine whether or not Grant still had the flu - so we didn't give him any milk that day or the next couple. Since we moved away from milk for a couple days - that meant we didn't use any bottles. We were still using 2 bottles/day, but now have moved on to just sippy cups. He's not so sure he likes the idea - but we're going with it :)

Another busy week ahead. We hope you have a great one!
