7 Months Old

Landon is 7 Months old!  Time is flying!  What is he up to?
Eating - cereal and baby foods.  He's liking he veggies better than fruits.  Eating generally goes pretty well.  We're doing about 2 meals/day so far.  He's also still nursing.
Sleeping - still waking up at night!  About 2am or so.  This is rough!  I typically feed him and put him back to bed, but the interrupted sleep is still a killer!
Loving the exersaucer.
Starting to sit, but not going solo yet (meaning without pillows) :)
And this is where I start to feel a bit terrible...I'm soooo far behind on blogging (6mos) that I don't exactly remember what he was doing at 7 mos.  Sorry buddy!

Driveway Hockey

Since we are learning how to ice skate, Daddy thought it would be fun to get out some of his old hockey sticks for us to play with.  We played some good ole driveway hockey tonight.

Sugar Powder

Alayna LOVES sugar powder (aka powdered sugar) on her French toast.  Guess who put it on all by herself?

More Time OUTSIDE!!!

Mid-March and outside with NO jackets!  Grant's decided he really wants to learn how to ride his bike with NO training wheels!

Keep practicing buddy!  You'll get it soon!
 Yup - it's official - I LIKE this weather!
Determined Alayna - riding Grant's bike with the training wheels.  This will be her first summer for a bike with training wheels.

Ice Skating

Guess who started Ice Skating lessons today!  We did!  We were both very excited to go!  It was my (Grant) second time taking lessons (I took the first ones about a year ago) and Alayna's first time.
We both fell asleep in the car on the way back from Grandpa and Grandma's house - so the start was a bit rough!
I did fine, but...
Alayna cried...A LOT!
Finally one of the teachers took Alayna's hand and helped her.  She started to feel a little bit better about things after that.  I hope she does better next week because there aren't enough teachers for them to go one on one with each of us!

Trouble

Oh Oh!  I think Daddy got in trouble for letting me fall asleep like this.  I should have been in my bed, but it was his idea to snuggle.  I didn't argue!  I don't get to see my Daddy as much when he's working so I like a little night snuggle time.

Sun

Alayna's picture(s) of the sun!  She did a great job drawing that tall by herself! (Age 3)

The weather the past few days has been amazing!  We're playing outside!

I think this was Landon's first ride on an outside swing (I'm slightly - 6 mos - behind on blogging, so forgive the forgetfulness please).  In our back yard!
 What a cutie :)
Watchin' the big kids from the front porch!  This exersaucer is great!
Grant was digging for worms - filling the back of his truck with dirt and some woodchips.

Where Did He Go?

I'm not crawling, but I get around!  Rolling is my mode of choice these days!  I was trying a quick game of hide and seek on Mommy, but she noticed me before I could get all the way under.  I think it has something to do with the size of my head :)

Swing Me to Sleep

So this is how I sleep on occasion.  You know - the "occasion" when Mommy and Daddy are so exhausted they don't know what else to do with me so they can sleep?  Hehe!  They put me to sleep in here and then creep in before they go to bed to shut it off.  It usually helps me sleep better than in my crib.  They don't like to let me sleep in here, but they keep saying I won't do this until I go to Kindergarten.  I guess that makes them feel better about things?

3 Year Dr Visit

Alayna's 3 year dr appt was the same day as Landon's 6 mo visit!  She's doing GREAT!  This was the first time she got to stand on the scale and be measured for height by standing (which usually means they take a dip on the percentage chart because they don't yet know how to stand up straight).  She even had her blood pressure taken.  She did great!  No shots today - which also meant no tears and we could leave our fairies band-aids in the diaper bag.

At age 3 - Alayna is up to 30 lbs and 36 inches.  She's caught up to Grant in weight (or passed maybe), but he still has her by 2 inches on height.  She knows all her colors, alphabet, is potty trained (except for nights - which 10% of 6 yr olds still aren't), and can draw a circle.  Things to work on for 3 to 4: explaining "Strangers" (which is a tough one for me because I also want them to be nice to everyone).

6 Months Dr Update

At Landon's 6 mo visit (3.1.12) his stats were:  16lbs 5oz which is 25th percentile and 26 inches - 50th percentile.  He's dropped a little from his last visit when looking at percentages, but that's ok.

So between now and 9 mos he should be up to eating 3 meals a day of solids (cereal, puree'd veggies & fruit), at about 7 mos or so he can start trying cheerios & puffs and crawling should begin.  Mommy is not encouraging any sort of movement - so if that is not happening by 9 mos - that is OK!!!!!
PS - yes I do realize this is 3 mos old...I'm a bit behind!
