WALKING!

Look out world - HERE I COME! I took 6 steps on my own last night! Mommy and Daddy were so proud. That is the first time I ever took any on my own and I took 6! Grant got excited too! Then they kept trying to have me do it again, and again, and again. Exhausting! Look out Grant! I'll be pushing that stroller before you know it!

Pretend

Check it out! For Christmas Alayna got this doll and then she got a new stoller for her birthday. Well - she is being silly and could care less about dolls right now - so I play with her baby. I hold her and give her my blanket when she is cold or sad. In this picture I am feeding her. She was really hungry. I even gave her a ride in Alayna's new stroller. Lucky for me, Alayna can't quite play with this one yet. I hope she takes I while to learn to walk! Mommy says my imagination is starting to kick in :)

More Cake

I got to have MORE birthday cake on Tuesday. We ran out of time to have any on Monday with going to Flabbergast and all - SO - we had some on Tuesday. It was still YUMMY.

Then Grant and I had baths. We (mostly Grant) played with my new bath paints that he (Grant) got me for my birthday. I like washing the paint off the side of the tub :)
I really like combing my own hair. Thank goodness I'm getting more - pigtails here I come!

Happy 1st Birthday Alayna!

Happy First Birthday Alayna Mae! I can't believe today has really been one whole year since Miss Alayna came into this world! Above she was a mere 5lbs 15oz and 18 inches long. Under an epidural that had yet to really kick in, Alayna quickly arrived at 9:13am. It was amazing!

Now today, she weighs in at 19lbs even and 28.5 inches long. She is 25th percentile for weight and 20th percentile for height. She is still an amazing girl! "Hey - are you sure you got that weight right? Let's not error too much on the high side...I know I still have those rolls on my thighs" :) We love those rolls!

UGH! Why did she have to embarrass me? Yes - of course I cried during my shot. You would too!

Playing with the blocks that I got for my birthday!

What is Alayna up to these days?

- just moving into 12/ 12-18 mo clothes

- still wearing size 3 diapers

- we have 1/2 a can of formula to finish before switching over to complete whole milk. She does like it though - we've given it to her.

- favorite foods: Mac n cheese, black beans, mandarin oranges, cheese

- sleeps with 2 nuks - 1 in mouth, 1 in hand (yes some nights she wakes up crying b/c she can not find the second nuk that she wants to hold)

- 95% of the time sleeps with her head nestled in the top right corner of her crib

- loves her ANIMAL book - Puppy is her favorite

- can play peek-a-boo (holds her hands over eyes and pulls them down - smiling :)

- can do "so big" (for quite a while now) - but now can also "stretch"

- likes "Happy and You Know It" and claps along

- loves to flush the toilet

- loves bathtime - now cries when it is time to get out

- knock on wood - she is finally back to sleeping allllll night. Bedtime b/w 7 & 8 and has been sleeping until 7ish

We had some of Alayna's favorites for dinner - Mac 'n Cheese and grilled cheese. Then we headed to Flabbergast (an inflatable slide and bounce place). It was soooo much fun :)

The Everyday Life

Yes, this is what it comes to when it's time to cut Grant's toenails. You can't see this, but Brian has a flashlight on his head and we are in the dark of his bedroom while he is sleeping - about 11pm.

Here we were cleaning before Alayna's party...Grant was such a big helper for me :)

Reading books before bed. Grant loves to "scoot" in the chair too.

Valentine's Day

A belated Happy Valentine's Day to all our family and friends out there! We love you all!

Alayna's FIRST Birthday Party

Saturday we had my FIRST birthday party! It was soooo much fun! My family came to celebrate with me and we had FUN! I had a butterfly theme. It was very bright and cheery! Mommy decorated with lots of balloons - which I LOVE! There were even butterfly ones. Everyone brought me such nice presents! THANK YOU ALL very much. I received some nice clothes for summer and even next fall, a swimsuit, some bath paint, a doll and storller, girly blocks, a jewelry box, some hair clips (yup - its JUST long enough) and even more!

Mommy also made me a butterfly cake! I did enjoy that A LOT and everyone else seemed to enjoy watching me eat it! After cake though - it was time for bed! I was exhausted. Fun Times. Can't wait to see what my actual birth day brings :)

Sand & Snow

Who says you can't play in the sandbox after the snow falls! Mommy let me play outside for just a few mins today and I found my good 'ole sandbox. I miss it! It welcomed me right in :)
