GUESS WHAT.....

Yes - you are reading right - Grant is going to be a BIG BROTHER! Brian and I are very happy to let you all know that we are expecting again - Baby Meidam #3 is on it's way. I had my first doctor appointment on Friday. We were not able to hear the heart beat because I was too early. Thankfully the doctor wanted to do an ultra sound to be certain of the due date - so we were able to see his/her little heart beating away at 167 beats per minute. I'm due February 27, 2009. Yes - you're right - that means I am still pretty early - 8 weeks.

This pregnancy again brings a lot of emotion. We couldn't feel more blessed to be expecting again and for Grant and this baby to have the opportunity to be close in age. However, every pregnancy will continue to bring about anxiety and worry until the baby is safely delivered and in our arms.

So far I do feel a bit better about this pregnancy than I did at this point with Grant - less anxiety this time anyway. It helps now that we have this beautiful little miracle in our lives - so we know it IS possible.

We do ask that you pray for this little one's full term pregnancy and safe arrival come February. We definately appreciate all of your prayers and support over these last 2 years of expanding the Meidam Family.

Thank you all for being such great family and friends. We are very, very blessed!

Vacation is over

Well, my first vacation is officially over. For me - that's ok. That means I get to go back to school tomorrow and visit my teachers and play with my friends again. For mommy and daddy though - that means - BACK TO WORK!
We had a really good time on vacation and want to thank Grandma and Papa Meidam for letting us stay at their house up north. It was so fun! We did so many things: boat rides, visited Sand Mountain, splashed in the water, went on lots of walks, went to the park, took naps, picked strawberries, went out to eat, went to the shops in Minoqua, had fun with my other Grandpa and Grandma - Kok - when they came to visit, etc
I had a bit of a cold this week, but think it is pretty much gone. My nose is still a little runny, but (knock on wood) I'm sleeping better now!
I started a few new things last week on vacation too. I now know how to clap (the right way) Before I used to clap with one hand open and the other in a fist...now I open both hands. I'm also getting soooo close to crawling.

When I didn't want to nap - I would get up on my hands and knees in my pack n play and rock back and forth, back and forth until mommy & daddy caught me - hehe. Then they would lay me back down and tell me I had to go to sleep.

I also sat in my first restaurant high chair this week. Mommy and Daddy were very proud of my behavior at the White Tail Inn. I was a very good boy. Mommy brought me my very own placemat and let me eat puffs while they ate their dinner. A few older couples commented on how cute I was...mommy loves that stuff but me & daddy just grin & bear it! :)

We hope you all had a good week last week and enjoy your week this week.
Lots of love!
Grant

Me & Mommy just about to go down a slide at the park. Daddy laughed because mommy really had to work hard to fit down that slide. I guess it's just for little boys & girls.

It was fun though - we went FAST!!!! :)

Splashing in the lake wtih Grandpa Kok! FUN FUN!

Playing peek-a-boo & knock over the tower with Grandma Kok - two of my favorite games!

Smelling the flowers with Mommy

My sister Briana's tree. We put pink lights on it over Memorial Day weekend and with the moonlight shining behind it - it looked beautiful!

My last nap at the lake :)

My First Vacation

Here are a few pictures from my first vacation. Mommy, Daddy and I have so much fun when we are together :) We had so much fun...we went on a pontoon boat ride. It was so fun. The only not so fun part is that I have to wear this life jacket. I guess it is to keep me safe just in case I fall in the water - but it is not too comfortable. The one I wore this time though was MUCH better than the one I wore the last time I went on a boat ride - that one I did not like AT ALL! Enjoy....

Me & Daddy drving the boat

Just cute little ole me
My first experience with sand...I think I like it! But they wouldn't let me eat it!
Look - my name is in the sand!
Me and Mommy snuggling after a long day (she loves this stuff!) :)
We were getting ready to go out for dinner - I was just soooo tired!

Aunt Sheila's Wedding

This weekend Aunt Sheila got married. It was a beautiful day and the wedding was held outside on the peninsula at Lakeside Park in Fond du Lac. They had a very nice ceremony, shared their own vows, and toasted their new life together - all in the presence of their family. Here are a few pics of Aunt Sheila and new Uncle Ryan. Welcome to the family.

Eating Adventures...

Hello everyone -
Over this past week I've experimented with some new foods & ways of eating. It's been a lot of fun and Mommy & Daddy are very proud of me :) Below is me eating part of a banana in one of those fruit/veggie holders. Mommy didn't know if she was really going to like using these things...they get a little gross after I chew on it for a while...but I like them so she lets me have them :)

Here I have something new - Baby Mum Mums. My friends at schoold told me about them and how good they were - so mommy got some for me. Mommy says they taste like a huge rice crispy - whatever - I like them :)

I've also been doing better with those little puff things. I now don't gag every time they are in my mouth - which is much better. BUT - it is soooo hard just to get it in my mouth. First they stick to my fingers, then right when I think it's going in my mouth - it falls and I have to start all over. I'll get it - then those puffs better watch out!
