14 Months

This is the only picture of me from the 15th - so we had to use it :) Grant is not stuck in his room - they just shut the gate on me when he's doing things I can't get into - like coloring, painting, etc. Not sure why they won't let me do that stuff unsupervised! I know, I know - Mommy continuously works with me on not walking with these things in my mouth. I'm learning...I'll keep working on it!

WOW - I'm 14 months old already! Mommy almost forgot - can you believe it? She just has one picture from my "big" day :) What am I up to these days? Well...

- since my 13 month days - my top molars have made their way through - the whole tooth. It's been a REALLY ROUGH month. Pretty sure I have had Tylenol and/or Motrin at least once every day for the last month. Naughty teeth!
- I'm talking more. I say Mommy, Daddy, "ah, ah" for Monkey, "roar" for Lion, "arrr" for Bear - pretty much the same as lion, baby, pretty, more (usually comes out like mememememe - as I reach for something on the table), hop, ball, cheese
- I point to animals in my books, but don't really say any of their names yet.
- I like visiting the zoo (but I like to walk myself ... Mommy doesn't let me do that too much though
- I'm WALKING everywhere now - no more crawling. Just in time to play outside. Mommy is pretty happy about that. I even got new cool shoes - I am beginning to love shoes. They are velcro - so sometimes I like to open them myself
- I've hit the "Mommy please don't leave me" stage...just a little bit of seperation anxiety. This is the age Grant went through this. Mommy's hoping it doesn't last too long. We'll see :)
- I LOVE it outside. I like the swings and love slides. I like going to the park and playing with bikes, cars, balls, anything on the driveway
- I'm still in Size 3 diapers
- I wear mainly 12-18 mo clothes and size 3.5 M shoes
- My hair can now go in a pony (I even wore piggy tails once) on top of my head
- I really like bath time...and if I stay on my butt like a good girl, mommy doesn't make me use the bath ring anymore
- Favorite foods: bananas, applesauce, mac n cheese, hot dogs, breakfast sausage, cheese, yogurt
- and this one deserves a line of it's own M&Ms. Sometimes I stand by the cupboard and point up and say...memememememe... Sometimes Mommy gives me one, but sometimes she doesn't - something about keeping my teeth healthy...whatever!
- I use a spoon all-by-myself now. I do pretty well with applesauce and yogurt. You can offer your assistance, but will INSIST on doing it all by myself.
- Most of the time I only take one nap these days - 2.5-3.5 hrs in the afternoon. I go down about 12:30 or 1:00 - after lunch
- Bedtime has moved back a little bit - 7:30ish is more like it these days
- I MUST sleep with 2 nuks. One in my mouth and one in my hand. I also sleep with my pink, soft blanket and my snuggle bear

Well - that's me these days. I'm lovin' life...well except these darn teeth...but other than that - I'm good!

Love you all! Thanks for checkin' up on me :)

"I Just Thank You Father for Making Me, ME!"

You know - as a parent things can get sooo frustrating sometimes. Things may not be going your way. You may feel like you are answering "WHY?" for the 439th time of the day and it's only 10:00am. But then you do these things and it all seems worth it :)

Grant just cracks me up. We just worked on this today for the first time. Please excuse my "singing" in parts. I just think it's funny :)

Zoo Day

On Saturday we went to the ZOO! Mommy takes us a lot because we have the zoo pass, but Daddy doesn't get to go very often because he's working. Well - Saturday we all went! It was A LOT of fun. We had great weather, but it was Family Free Day at the Zoo so it was packed.

Mommy packed a lunch and we stopped to eat it by the pond. Daddy and I threw in some of our cheese for the fish to eat - I thought it was hilarious to watch them!
Check it out! I am about to do a pull up :) Never can pass up a chance to get a good work out in!

See...uwahhh...(no, my pants aren't falling down!)

Hi! I'm walking really well now and thought it was ok if I went on my own at the zoo. There were a lot of people though, so I wasn't allowed out of the stroller very much.
Just me & Mommy
...and me & Daddy
Just a little family shot...sorry I'm looking a bit goofy. I didn't know the guy taking our picture - so this was the look I gave.

Yeah! Pony Rides on Daddy! He didn't think this was super comfortable since I have pretty short arms still. He has to reach up a ways to hold on to me. Thanks Daddy!
We had a great time and can't wait to go back again. We love those animals!
Love you all!

Independence

We are just trying to make things easier on Mommy over hear. You know - we are 1 and 2 now...it's time we start taking some things on ourselves now :)
I tried to get dressed all by MYSELF. When I ended up with both legs in one pants leg I walked all the way from my bedroom to the bathroom to ask Mommy to help me :)
I now like to eat all by MYSELF...WITH a spoon. Applesauce and yogurt I now LOVE!

It is rather entertaining...take a look. (AND don't forget to notice I have 2 Pigtails in my hair!)

See...it's all gone.

Bathtime Fun

Easter

(Mommy started this post over the weekend, but "life" has delayed the post)
Well - we didn't get to celebrate Easter the proper way this year. This is the biggest and best day to celebrate at church with all our family and friends who also believe Christ is Risen - BUT - this year we were sick! Bummer! So sad. Daddy and Alayna were not feeling so good - so we left Grandpa and Grandma's and headed back home Sunday morning (they got sick Sat night). So...we hung out all day at home. We had peanut butter & jelly for lunch...which was a far cry from dinner at Great Grandma's - ham, meatballs, potatoes, etc Bummer. Oh well.

We had our Easter Egg hunt at our house on Monday night instead. Alayna and I found our baskets and some eggs. It was a lot of fun. Alayna LOVES M&Ms and I must say - I love candy too. A new one I discovered I really like is Starburst...mmm.
Miss Jackie - our upstairs neighbor - gave us a whole sand bucket of goodies...in it were our very first PEEPS...YUM. Thanks Miss Jackie!
When we were at Grandma and Grandpa's Saturday night, Uncle Cory took me and Brayden to see the firetrucks. SUPER FUN! Thank you Uncle Cory!
These ended up being our Easter outfits. (SAD for Mommy) Maybe next week for the really cute stuff.
Alayna LOVES the car :)
Grant loves to dribble balls
First backyard swing ride of the season
Finally, our Easter Egg and Basket hunt. Alayna's was under the table - one of her favorite spots
"Alayna...there are eggs for you over here. Come on!"
"Yay, you found them"My basket was behind the chair. I did a great job finding all the eggs.

She's Walking!

Well - I'd say she's more official now. As of yesterday, Alayna has really started standing up from the floor and really WANTING to walk a lot. She's doing great! It's so funny to see her so proud of herself.

(sorry - taping quality is not the greatest) :)
