Swimming Lessons

During the last 2 weeks of June Grant had swimming lessons at the new pool in Wauwatosa - Hoyt Park. The pool itself is great! The weather for swimming these 2 weeks left a lot to be desired. It was COLD and rainy. Rain isn't too bad right b/c you get wet in the pool anyway - BUT when it is a complete down-pour and I get more soaked running to the car to load up the kids than Grant would get going in the pool - it's not a good day to swim :) (ok - maybe I exagerated a little, but not much).

The pool was heated though and thankfully Grant LOVES to swim - so he went willingly everyday. A few days he quit a bit early because he was freezing, but once he "got" how to scrunch down in the water to keep warm while the teacher was helping the other girl in his class - he was good-to-go. One nice thing about the colder weather was that Grant and one other little girl were the only 2 who ever showed up for their class. It was great that he had such close attention and help for all the lessons.

He did great! They did a lot of back floats, practiced putting their faces in the water, blowing bubbles, even doing big arm circles while kicking and putting their faces in. He is now a regular fish and can swim using his arms, face in the water and kicking his legs - WITHOUT the help of us. Crazy! Nice work little buddy! Grant's #1 fan :)
