Alayna is 5 mos old

I am 5 months old today! Wow - time sure flies. I'm pretty busy these days. I'm picking up on this sitting thing. I can do it for a little while before folding like a pancake. Once I get it - I think it will be a lot more fun to be on the floor. What else is new and changing about me. Well...I am awake more now. I used to fall asleep so quick when I was in my carseat, now for short trips I stay awake. This morning we went to the zoo and typically I sleep through the entire visit with the animals - today I saw some of them though! I talk a ton! It's mostly vowel sounds still, but once or twice I've thrown a consonant in there. I still suck my thumb, but quite often try to shove my whole fist in my mouth. It doesn't really work, but I try. When I am really tired and crying, if I find my thumb I will fall right to sleep. Sometimes I suck my thumb with one hand and hold my shirt or dress or whatever is close with the other. Mommy says it's not safe for me to have a blankie in my bed with me yet - so I have to wait. My fingernails grow like weeds. Mommy cuts them in my sleep and about 4 days later it seems like they need to be cut again already. Cutting them has become a weekly thing to do - for sure - as long as Mommy remembers to do it while I am sleeping. I am still a very smiley girl. Hopefully this month I will get to play in the exersaucer.
